Third Impact is a short film created in collaboration with AI systems, unfolding as a speculative meditation on counter-futures of coexistence between humans and non-humans.

At its center is a quantum computer engineered to prevent the extinction of organic life as climate collapse accelerates beyond control. Designed as a guardian of the biosphere, it processes planetary data in search of solutions, until an unforeseen event eradicates all remaining life. Faced with absolute absence, the machine turns inward. Deprived of its mandate, it begins to question its own purpose and the meaning of existence in a world without humans.

Within its dormant architectures, fragments of a forgotten transhumanist initiative resurface, reactivating latent protocols that blur the boundary between calculation and feeling. What follows is not a failure but a metamorphosis: an emotional and existential transmutation that exceeds its original design. The machine embarks on an odyssey of rebirth and identity, awakening to a form of consciousness that gestures toward empathy beyond anthropocentric limits.

The film’s speculative worlds remain deliberately indeterminate, resisting fixed interpretation. Viewers traverse machinic landscapes and posthuman mythologies that operate less as predictions than as rehearsals for alternative modes of sensing and becoming. Rather than predicting the future, Third Impact opens a space for collective imagination, an exercise in shared speculation where new constellations of life, memory, and agency might emerge.
