ASMR for Earthly Survival investigates ASMR (Autonomous Sensory Meridian Response) as a medium for intimate science-fiction storytelling. Drawing on soft whispers, tactile sounds, and close-mic sensations, the work transforms a format typically associated with comfort and care into a speculative narrative device.
Through a sensory audiovisual experience, the audience is guided into a dystopian near future where ecological anxiety becomes both atmosphere and subject. The piece unfolds as a whispered transmission from a fragile world, blurring the boundaries between relaxation and alarm, intimacy and catastrophe.
Developed through a collaborative process, the work weaves together shared fears, vulnerabilities, and reflections shaped by contemporary climate crisis narratives. In doing so, it reimagines ASMR not only as a soothing practice, but as a collective coping mechanism and a subtle strategy for imagining forms of earthly survival.
Don’t forget to wear headphones to experience it at its best!
